Parvo causes extreme bloody diarrhea, vomiting and lowering of the immune system. This disease is very contagious and can be transmitted by wildlife, dirt on your shoes, and, of course, by infected dogs. It can kill and there is no cure. Supportive care is very expensive, in the 1000$ range, and during that time the inflicted dog will suffer.
There is no need for dogs to endure this disease as vaccines are 100% protective. Please make sure that your dog was vaccinated in the last year for this disease!
