Parvo Outbreak

There is currently a parvo-virus outbreak in dogs in Tofino and other areas.

Parvo is a very contagious disease which dogs can contract by sniffing an area where another dog has shed the virus or by coming in contact with a sick dog. It often ends in death and it costs thousands of dollars to treat due to the lengthy hospital stays and medications. It causes severe vomiting and diarrhea which can be very bloody. It can also shut down the immune system.

There is an easy test to perform if you are concerned that your dog has parvo.
